I've been looking for a case that I can check as baggage if I have to while flying. I looked at SKB and Gator but neither company makes a case that's a good fit for the Alvarez Yairi I want to put in it. I have the SKB which they call a flight case but the lid is pretty flexible and can be pushed in. This case is more than twice as expensive but I think it's worth it to protect a 1500.00 dollar instrument. The case is quality all the way and I have no doubt I could stand on the lid of this thing without hurting my guitar. Unfortunately It arrived with the wrong key and Amazon's only solution was to exchange the whole case for another, which I thought was silly. So I emailed Crossrock and got a response the next morning asking for pictures of the key. After sending the pic I received another message saying they were sending out the correct key that day! They could simply have dropped it in the mail for pennies but they are Fedexing it. I consider this outstanding customer service. The case is so damn pretty I hate to see it get scarred up by checking it at the airline but I haven't been able to find a case protector that will fit it. I can usually take a guitar as carry on which then gets put in the carry on hold for larger items which is a more gentle experience but you never no when some airline employee is having a bad day and might refuse to allow that. I know, it's a case and it's job is to protect the guitar, not itself but damn it just looks so sweet! If you're looking at Visesnut cases save yourself 500.00 to 800.00 bucks and order one of these. I've never seen one but I can't imagine anything being stronger than this thing.
