The EuroSCHIRM Telescoping Handsfree trekking umbrella is compact at only 19” when closed but has a 2-stage telescoping shaft that can be extended up to 37” at full length. The umbrella includes 2 turn-able clips with Velcro strips allowing it to be attached to the shoulder straps and hip belt of any standard backpack. Alternatively, it can be attached on our carrier-belt-system (sold separately) so that no backpack is necessary. Both hands remain completely free for use of trekking poles, cameras, GPS, or just walking. The umbrella can be positioned vertically on the left or right side or angled to protect against sun or rain coming from the side. When opened the umbrella measures 43” in diameter offering protection of both the hiker and backpack. The all-fiberglass shaft is light weight, extremely durable, and includes a patented manual runner-pin-system opening and closing mechanism.
[COMPLETELY HANDSFREE] - By means of two accompanying turn-able clips which attach to the pack shoulder straps via Velcro strips, the umbrella can be positioned to the right, the left, or straight up providing handsfree protection from the sun or rain. The elastic carrying loop at the umbrella handle serves as flexible fastening to the hip belt.
[TELESCOPING SHAFT] - This special umbrella includes a 2-stage telescoping fiberglass shaft which only measures 19” when closed but can be extended up to 37” when extended.
[EXTRA WIDE CANOPY] – Measuring 43” in diameter, the Swing Handsfree umbrella is large enough to cover both hiker and their pack from rain. It is also extremely useful as for rain or sun protection of small kids riding on their parent's backs in a carrying seat.
[SOFT TOUCH HANDLE] – The velvety touch high-density EVA hard-foam handle offers the highest possible carrying comfort and feels dry even when wet. The umbrella cap is also made of EVA foam and the system comes with a mesh case for storage when not in use.
[DURABLE CONSTRUCTION] - The entire umbrella frame consists of elastic and extremely break-proof fiber glass material. The frame is nearly completely metal-free and corrosion-proof. The lightweight and highly tear-resistant Polyester fabric is Teflon coated for water and dirt repellency.
