This umbrella can last a long time if you remember to close it so that if a wind comes up, it will stay intact. It’s a beautiful addition to my deck. I have three.The solar lights were a bonus so I wasn’t bothered when one of the light strips wasn’t working right off the bat (see pic). The rest of them work fine; they’re not bright (more of an ambiance- dim glow) — the flying bugs aren’t attracted to them that way and they can be turned off with a flip of the switch.This umbrella company also sells replacement umbrella toppers which look easy to replace and are inexpensive if you decide to go with a different color or if the original one fades or tatters… I can’t address fading at this time since I received this only a few days ago.Each of my umbrellas have lasted me a long time because I have never left them open in a wind and I close them each day and every time I leave the house. I store them over winter with an umbrella cover over them.
