I just received and assembled the Sofa/Futon. My sofa was delivered by UPS in one big box!. Assembly was straight forward but if you have a socket wrench and a power screwdriver with different sizes of Allen wrench bits it would make assembly easier than trying to use the supplied tools. I put this all together myself (70 year old woman) but needed help flipping it upright because I didn't want to put weight on the legs sideways and this is a substantially heavy sofa. The only assembly required is bolting the arms and attaching the legs. This is not the plushest sofa, and some staples around the edges show. A zipper on the back that hides the futon legs broke on first use, but this won't be seen. This sofa does sit low, from floor to top of seat is 15". A loveseat I have measures 17". But that's not a problem for my 28" inseam self. My taller son-in-law sprawled out quite comfortably on it. The seat and back cushions are attached so no alternating or fluffing. This is not an heirloom sofa but it fits my apartment, budget and style. I am pleased with this purchase.I love the esthetics of this couch, it looks great in my spare room/TV room... the only downfall is that it is not very comfortable for lounging... I hear about it every football game from my husband and am forever cleaning up piles of blankets that are doubling as cushions from my son. Personally, I find it adequate for the random 15 minute YouTube tutorial.Comfort: Pretty good! Not the most plush, but definitely good for a one-or-two night stay or a good after work nap!Durability: The lighter color stains surprisingly easy for the material, but it's kind of my own fault since I have a pet. The arms are a bit flimsy– make sure not to sit or lean against them too hard. When the futon is extended, can tip. There's not a lot of support, but it's a pretty minor issue imo.Design: Looks good for the most part, but there are black zippers in the back that are pretty visible and make it look kind of tacky. Just changing those to blue or silver would make it look much better. Stitching and fabric looks nice and we get a lot of compliments– no one believes it was so cheap or that we got it on amazon.Assembly: difficult alone, but very doable with two people. Got it done in less than an hour. This is a really nice looking couch, and you'd never know it can double as a futon. I don't think I'd ever use it as one though, because the cushions are so incredibly thin you can feel the frame through them. I am definitely glad that I bought it, especially for the price I paid. It's going to work well as basic seating but I definitely won't be having anyone over to sleep on it!Okay I like this couch just to be clear but it's not a good sleeping experience. I tried to sleep on it the first night we got it and it's just not comfortable. I think if you put a big cozy comforter underneath you it might work but if that's the surface you have to work with than "fugeta 'bout it". It's hard which is fine if it's a sofa; but it's not fine if you want something that will give your guest a pleasant night's sleep. I do like the design of it though. It's a great Mid-Century Modern look and it has a low profile and it's not overly cushy so it doesn't take up a lot of space. It's not cozy but then again this era of design wasn't known for that quality. It's a nice dark blue color and it goes well with greys, browns, and lighter blue colors. The last thing I will say is that it is bear to put together by yourself. There are so many swinging aspects to this thing and unless it's completely level the backside of it wants to swing one way and with the hinge at the center of it it wants to swing apart like cupboard doors. (I know this sounds nonsensical but when you pull it out of the box you will understand what I'm talking about). You might think, well just keep it level then, but the problem is you need to get on it's underside and outside left and right to install the legs and arms and to do so I finally had to rest it on four chairs elevated with the sides hanging off - just to get all the necessary components installed. Good luck. I'd say add alcohol to your assembly process - enough to make it a tolerable experience but not too much so that you install the legs wrong. So the only issue I had with this couch was when it arrived the couch is already put together basically but folded up in half which then is the cause on the middle back piece being broken.I was lucky to have a good grandpa that knows tools and such to fix it though. Also bonus, secret hiding area for small things lol, the underneath it’s zipper pouches where the arms where stored during shipping and now can hide small items, money, books, etc in it lolBut that’s was probably my own thoughtI just built today, so I guess I'll have to see how it holds up over the next few months. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this was to put together and how nice it looks for the price. The mustard color is exactly as pictured, though, I am attaching two pictures to show how it looks in different light. As the rest of the reviews say, definitely on the firmer side -- not much different than other Walmart/Amazon/Target futons that I and my friends have used in the past, but I found that it is just fine for a couch! If you are a college student looking for a nicer styled couch instead of the classic armless black futon from Walmart... I'd absolutely recommend for the price! My only complaint is that the middle section of the couch gaps more than I anticipated and the screws were slightly difficult to get in if you didn't do it just right. Even with that in mind, I was able to put it together by myself in under an hour no problem. This is my second couch, I bought it as a replacement. I love the mustard color. Just be aware to not to seat down in between the 2 cushions since there is no spring to support any weight on that space, causing the foam to eventually break in two. I know it since I ripped off my whole previous sofa to save the frame for a DIY project and was like ‘what?’TRhis little sofa does the job. However, could be more comfortable.Absolutely delighted such great value for money!! Going to order a second one now!It looks very pretty on the material is nice low grade linen look fabric which pulls easy if snagged seems to be well-made I don’t like the fact that it’s split in the middle and held together by door hinges but the big problem is it’s terribly uncomfortable to sit on I am debating if I’m going to send us back or not..Update the feet under the middle started showing stress bends in the plastic you have to look close but that’s where the bolts go though and would eventually break from the stress of bearing all the weight in the middle being ‘split’ in two bye hinges .Highly disappointed as the sofa that was advertised as Grey linen showed up and was actually a stark w h i t e futon. It got dirty the moment it was unpacked and touched the wrong side of the shipping plastic/box on the floor, and won’t come out. This couch has fallen apart. Do not buy. Legs didn’t fit into the holes when assembling. Holes were too big. Fabric is cheap and thin. Very uncomfortable to sleep on.
