This pretty navy dress could function as a basic go-to dress for a cocktail party if you dress it up or for a funeral with understated accessories. Most likely it works well for taller women, but as I bought the petite it just did not work on me for two reasons. The lantern sleeves add a lot of volume to the dress for anyone who is a shorter person. In addition, the length falls below the knee which is unflattering for most petites. For reference: I'm 5'3" and 120 lbs. It's a very nice well constructed dress but it just did not work with my body type.Color is gorgeous. But I'm 5'3 and length was too long, it was like a midi dress. I had to returned. But fabric is not too thick or thin and love the design. I am ordering petite size with other color.I like this dress. Nice weight fabric, it is not too tight on your body but it shows your curve nice way. One complaint is opening of sleeves are too big and long. I'm 5'3, 137lbs. I ordered petite size 6 and 8. I kept petite size 8. I could wear size 6 but I feel more professional in size 8.
