I really like this umbrella. It is FAR SUPERIOR to big-box umbrellas in build quality, sturdiness, looks and operation. I love the fact that it is easy to assemble (use two people, though. Don't do it by yourself). Mine is in a fixed location, right next to the pool so I can shade my in-pool table. If you don't plan on moving it around (unlikely since it is pretty large), consider making a permanent base for it. I am not a fan of water or sand-filled bases (esp for the size), and there are many in-ground DIY bases on Amazon. Pick one, dig a large hole, put the base in, level it, fill it in with concrete, and you're done. I thoroughly believe that you get what you pay for, and the Purple Leaf umbrellas certainly prove that. We'll be enjoying this umbrella for many years. Thank you, Purple Leaf!
