It snuggly fit both my 4/4 electric violin and acoustic violin. Based on the reviews both on Amazon reviews and YouTube video review I can say that this is my take:Smells: I also experience sharp chemical smells when I first open it but this is only a minor issue as the smell will be gone once you air it out for half a day.Lock: its unclear to me as to why the design has two lock system but only one has a key. Also, I have anxiety issue over wearing the case on my back like a backpack because I'm afraid that the case would open by itself and dropped my violin. To summarize, the lock didn't give a sense of security.Outer appearance: the case is undeniably beautiful but its really easy to get scratches that can't seem to be fixed.Inside: asides from being able to fit two of my violin, there's also space for the shoulder rest. The blanket that comes with it is too thin. The bow holder is great.
