This is a lovely fabric. It is the weight of a soft canvas. The color was different than pictured. The background color is not white - it's much darker, tan color. I even liked the packaging and explanation of how it is made. Truthfully, I would not have purchased it if was pictured as received, but I liked everything else about it I decided to keep it.It is my own fault and thus I am keeping it...as a reminder to read better the whole page on items I buy and because we wanted that design. But the photo looks far better than what it is. I was expecting a true bedspread, not a glorified sheet, which is what it is. Yes, the artist's work is impressive, but like many things from India, it is rough feeling and a VERY DARK NAVY...almost black. I doubt I have ever been so disappointed upon opening a purchase via Amazon. Yes, I could return it, but we are not going to do so...but will be a much more careful buyer in future. I hope it will wear better than it looks.I read the laborious process undertaken in printing these cotton bedspreads - and looked for evidence of overlap and mistakes.........could not find one. The bedspread is beautiful and of great quality. It is heavy enough to lie flat and light enough to not add weight to the blankets under it. I am planning on ordering another soon.I grew up in the late 60's and fondly remember material made in India. Finding this bedspread and pattern was great discovery! Not disappointed.This bedspread is gorgeous, and the perfect weight for summer. I am thrilled with my purchase. I will be using it for many years.This is just beautiful!Well made and beautiful.
